Snap Litterbugs, Earn Rs 500: Varanasi Civic Body's Clean-Up Push
The Varanasi Municipal Corporation has launched an innovative initiative to curb littering in the temple city. In order to ensure cleanliness, citizens who report with photographic evidence of people throwing garbage in public places will be rewarded 500 rupees. According to officials, the corporation will then identify the offenders and impose a fine on them.
