In an effort to identify criminals who attempt theft at jewellery shops in Varanasi, jewellers in the Uttar Pradesh city have decided to stop selling ornaments to anyone entering their establishment with faces covered. According to jewellers, theft attempts have been on the rise, with rising prices of gold and silver. And often these criminals hide their faces with masks, scarves or helmets, making it difficult for the police to identify the culprits.
