It is the biggest bank fraud scam till date and at the heart of it is Nirav Modi, the jeweller to the rich and famous who along with corrupt bank officials allegedly fleeced over Rs 11,300 crore rupees in seven years, and now can't be traced. Just like Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi too easily flew out of the country before the authorities could tighten the noose. The scam which has shaken up the banking sector to the core has also triggered a political earthquake.
