A cluster of villages in South Rajasthan. Unheard of, mostly. Men here have low-life expectancy. And women are fewer than men. So once widowed, the women remarry and leave home. Their new families don't accept children, especially daughters, from their previous marriage. Nor do her ex in-laws let go of the grandchildren, hoping to be nursed in their old age. The result is a shocking family structure, of young girls heading households like grown-ups, with no time for education or childhood.
