April 1 this year was an important landmark in tiger conservation, marking 50 years of the launch of Project Tiger. It was launched by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi from Corbett Tiger Reserve, under it were 9 tiger reserves and the official tiger count was a dismal 268. On April 9, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the Tiger numbers for 2022. Let's take a look at 50 years of India's 'Project Tiger' and NDTV's campaign 'Save our Tigers'.
