On a Coffee Break in Silicon Valley, Amrita Gandhi catches up with Sal Khan, the founder of the non-profit education foundation Khan Academy. The MIT and Harvard Business School alum was raised by a single mom in New Orleans. Sal Khan's wit and down-to-earth manner haven't worn off despite his wild success in Silicon Valley.  His own back story has a humble and touching beginning. While working in a hedge fund to repay college loans he discovered his passion for teaching when he was asked to help his cousin and other kids in the family struggling in 7th grade maths.

He eventually quit his hedge fund job to follow his passion for bringing free high-quality education to any kid anywhere for free.  His early videos were produced from a walk-in closet that he called his 'global headquarters'. Khan Academy has since received recognition, success and donations from some of the biggest names in philanthropy and technology.  Sal believes in using cutting-edge technology including Artificial Intelligence to help assist kids one one-on-one with maths.

Today, Khan Academy has over 160 million registered users, is present in 190 countries including India and can be accessed in 50 languages including 4 Indian languages.
