Safeguards for Mumbai beaches
Mumbai's 48-km coastline claims more than 50 lives every year. ''Mumbai and Maharashtra has the most dangerous beaches and no trained lifeguards,'' said Rear Admiral Purushottam Sharma, President, Rashtriya Life Saving Society.
