Jammu and Kashmir Floods | River Overflows, Families Forced to Take Shelter on Roofs
Heavy rainfall triggered a flash flood in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district after the Rajouri River overflowed, flooding Madina Colony and nearby low-lying areas. Several homes and shops were submerged, vehicles were swept away, and multiple houses were damaged in the disaster. Many residents were forced to spend the night on rooftops as authorities waited for water levels to recede before assessing the damage. Locals have appealed for immediate relief and compensation following the massive losses.
