Republic Day 2026 | Gallantry To Glory: Key Highlights From India's 77th Republic Day

India celebrated its 77th Republic Day with a spectacular parade at Kartavya Path in New Delhi, showcasing the nation's rich cultural diversity, economic progress and military strength. President Droupadi Murmu led the celebrations, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi began the day by paying tribute to fallen heroes at the National War Memorial. The President arrived at Kartavya Path in a ceremonial buggy with chief guests, European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, before unfurling the Tricolour, followed by the National Anthem and a 21-gun salute. The parade reflected the spirit of this year's themes, 'Swatantrata ka Mantra: Vande Mataram' and 'Samriddhi ka Mantra: Aatmanirbhar Bharat', featuring 30 vibrant tableaux from States, Union Territories and Central government departments.
