A chilling new revelation has emerged in the Delhi Red Fort blast investigation. NDTV has learned that Dr. Muzammil and Dr. Umar, both accused in the case, had conducted a reconnaissance of the Red Fort as early as January this year - months before the explosion.

Investigators say phone dump data places Muzammil at the Red Fort in January, and during interrogation, he admitted that the module had been planning to carry out an attack around Republic Day, January 26. Even more alarming, there were subsequent plans for a strike around Diwali, suggesting a long-term terror blueprint rather than a one-off act.
