Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has criticised the Maharashtra government's rule requiring drivers to learn Marathi, saying there should be no dispute between Hindi and Marathi. While stressing that learning Marathi is important, Athawale opposed making a 30-day deadline compulsory, amid a controversy over possible licence action against drivers who fail to learn the language.
