A political row has erupted in Tamil Nadu after Rahul Gandhi named his student interaction programme in Chennai 'Chhatron Ki Goonj', a Hindi title. DMK leader A. Saravanan questioned the choice, asking why the event was not named in Tamil or English and drawing a comparison with the BJP's use of Hindi for government schemes. The Congress, in turn, criticised the DMK for making the programme's title a language issue, triggering a fresh exchange between the two parties.
