Punjab government’s Yudh Nashe Virudh anti-drug campaign has come under scrutiny after a mother from Ludhiana claimed that all six of her sons died due to the drug chitta over the past 13 years. Police, however, maintain that five of the deaths were caused by alcoholism and related illnesses, with only one linked to drug use. Punjab’s Leader of Opposition Partap Bajwa met the family, offered financial assistance, and criticised the state government’s efforts to curb the drug menace. NDTV’s Mohammed Ghazali reports.
