Aravallis in Haryana have been under attack from illegal mining and construction activities for a very long time. This threat has increased manifold after Haryana government's latest advisory. This advisory has suggested to redefine Aravalli range on account of Centre's 1992 notification which only covers areas of old Gurugram district and not the Aravalli areas in Faridabad under the natural conservation zone. This week on The Property Show we invite an expert panel - Ritwick Dutta, Environmental Lawyer, Chetan Agarwal, Environmental Analyst, and Dr M Ramachandran, Former Secretary of Urban Development Ministry - to understand the implication of destroying this biodiversity and recharge zone.
