Priyanka Gandhi Slams Rajnath Singh's 'Babri-Nehru' Remark
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has sparked a major political row by claiming that former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru wanted to use public funds to build the Babri Masjid, a move he says was blocked by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He also alleged that Nehru suggested diverting public contributions meant for Patel's memorial towards building wells and roads. Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi hit back, calling the remarks "destructive".
