Pride Month | Budapest Pride Marchers Brave Record-Breaking Heatwave In Hungary

Thousands of people gathered in Budapest on Saturday to take part in Hungary's 31st annual Pride march, despite soaring temperatures reaching 38°C. The event marked the first Budapest Pride since former Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who had sought to ban the march, was voted out of office earlier this year. Organisers distributed water to participants as much of Europe continued to grapple with an intense early-summer heatwave. Last year's Budapest Pride drew a record turnout and became a major protest against Orbán's government.
