Aishwarya Rai Bachchan attended the press conference of Ponniyin Selvan: I with director Mani Ratnam and co-stars Trisha, Karthi, Vikram and Jayam Ravi. During the conference Aishwarya was asked about which role was challenging Jodha (Jodha Akbar) or Nandini (Ponniyin Selvan), to this, she said that there should not be any comparisons. She added that every role has their own depth these two characters are completely different.
