A political war is brewing over sweets that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been allegedly eating in jail, the drop in his sugar levels, the sweetness of the mangoes that the ED alleged he has eaten in the last few days, and the lack of adequate medical care for a diabetic like him in Tihar jail. Mr Kejriwal wrote to Tihar Jail official claiming that he was not being administered insulin despite his peaking sugar levels. Jail officials maintained he spoke to expert doctors online, and that the issue of insulin was neither raised by the Chief Minister nor suggested by the doctors who were consultated. While this has become a major flashpoint between the AAP and BJP, a Delhi court rejected Mr Kejriwal's petition for a daily 15-minute video consultation with his doctor but ordered the constitution of a panel of specialist doctors to decide if the AAP chief needs regular insulin shots.
