What Happened in Malda? 9 Hours That Shocked the Judiciary

Seven judicial officers were held hostage for over nine hours in West Bengal's Malda district by a group of voters whose names were deleted from the voter list during the Special Intensive Revision.

The officers, including three women, were gheraoed at Kaliachak in Malda yesterday afternoon. Around 1 am today, a massive contingent of police and paramilitary personnel removed the protesters, rescued the judicial officers, and moved them to a safe location.
