The acute water shortage in Thane's Mumbra suburb has hit hospitals and even life-saving surgeries. With the town receiving water just four days a week, hospitals are the worst hit. Doctors are forced to plan surgeries well in advance, given a 60 hour water shutdown imposed by the municipal corporation.
