The Pakistan army's operation in Pakistan's northwest frontier province has been the beginning of the end of whatever tenuous peace the region had. Since October, violence has been simmering and anti-Musharraf and anti-America feelings have boiled over several times. Attempts of peace made by the government or the moderates have been only fleetingly successful.
