In Thiruvananthapuram, essential service providers are being forced to pay double for commuting to their place of work amid the nationwide lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus pandemic. A sanitation worker tells NDTV that she now has to take an auto since bus services are shut. Since she comes from the outskirts of the capital, the auto drivers charged her for a return-journey since they wouldn't find passengers on their way back. She will not be reimbursed for the commute, she said.
