Hearing a CBI plea to revive conspiracy charges against BJP veterans in the Babri demolition case, the Supreme Court on Thursday signalled that it was open to putting LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and others on trial for the conspiracy to pull down the 16th century Babri masjid in Ayodhya in December 1992. "We want to do justice by using our powers in the Constitution," the court observed during a marathon four-hour-long hearing. It has reserved its verdict and told the parties to file their final submissions before next Tuesday.
