Backing the decision taken by Tamil Nadu Governor C Vidyasagar Rao in the Tamil Nadu political standoff, senior congress leader and former home minister P Chidambaram said the Governor was right in deferring the decision on calling on a new leader to form the government. VK Sasikala doesn't enjoy popular support, he said, and that AIADMK is now a "perilous and suicidal course".
