After fending off vitriolic criticism from the BJP over the allocation of coal blocks, the government may face embarrassment from within its own quarters. As the controversy over 'Coal-gate' heats up, sources have told NDTV that a draft report prepared by an inter-ministerial panel, set up by the Coal Ministry to review the progress of development of all coal blocks, is likely to recommend that several companies lose their coal licenses for failing to begin mining. The Government had slapped cancellation notices on 58 companies in April this year.
