Arunachal President's Rule: Constitutional Or Collapse Of Law?

The turmoil in Arunachal Pradesh has intensified with the union cabinet recommending President's Rule in the state. The decision was taken at an emergency cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Modi. This despite the fact that the matter is already before the Supreme Court. Congress which rules the state and Chief Ministers of several non-BJP ruled states have strongly condemned the decision, calling it Modi Government's assault on federalism. The Centre justifies its decision saying a complete collapse of governance and law and order in the state forced its hand.
