Mumbai's iconic Cafe Mondegar is among four eateries whose licences have been suspended by the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration following inspections that found food safety and hygiene lapses. The FDA said the deficiencies at Mondegar included improper storage temperatures for hot and cold food, inadequate thawing and cooling practices, and sanitation issues that posed a risk of cross-contamination. The other establishments facing action are Maharashtra Biryani Centre in Kandivali, Tribhuvan Dairy Farm in Ghatkopar West and Mahavir Cashew and Foods Pvt Ltd in Ghatkopar East.
