RBI cuts repo rate by 0.5%; CRR left unchanged
The Reserve Bank of India Governor announces a repo rate cut by 0.50 per cent to 8 per cent. The cash reserve ratio, the percentage of deposits kept by banks with RBI, has been left unchanged at 4.75 per cent. He explains the reasons for the same.
