The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has decided to raise the interest rate for provident fund by 1 per cent to 9.5 per cent. The higher rates would be applicable to provident fund deposits for the 2010-11 fiscal. However, the decision needs a nod from the Finance Ministry before it becomes applicable.
