Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has called for a major expansion of India-Japan business ties, saying the number of Japanese companies operating in India should double this decade from current levels. Speaking at a roundtable in Tokyo with the Japan-India Business Consultative Committee and the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Goyal stressed the need for deeper business-to-business cooperation and greater economic engagement between the two countries.
