Piyush Goyal On India-US Trade Deal: "All Details Are Sorted Out On Paper"

Can India trust the United States to follow through on the trade pact? Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal says there is no reason for doubt. Responding to concerns that Washington has backed out of agreements in the past, Goyal stressed that the India-US deal is not a loose framework but a fully detailed and documented agreement built over 12 months of negotiations. He credited the strong relationship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump for ensuring trust and implementation. According to the minister, the final paperwork will be completed within about six weeks and an executive order reducing US tariffs to 18% is expected soon. His assurance, this is a robust, comprehensive deal that India is confident will be carried through.
