India Boosts Defence R&D Spending-But Is It Enough?
"When we made our projections to the 16 finance commission, I'd asked for a 19% year on year increase in the, particularly in the capital outlay for the defence ministry. We are very thankful to the Ministry of Finance. Of course, the experience of Op Sindoor would have also weighed on them to some extent," said Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh. "We are very happy with the increase in overall capital outlay of 21% and an increase in the modernisation part of the budget," he said.
