People Welcome New Year With 'Never Seen Before' Celebration At Lal Chowk In Srinagar
As New Year fervour set in, people in large numbers gathered at Lal Chowk in J&K's Srinagar to welcome new year. They grooved to music at iconic 'Ghanta Ghar' in joyous and celebratory atmosphere as the clock struck 00:00 hours. Taking to 'X', CEO of Srinagar Smart City Ltd., Athar Aamir Khan, described the occasion as something the city has never seen before. Earlier, on New Year's Eve, people were seen dancing and singing at Lal Chowk in Srinagar as they welcomed the year 2024. One of the visitors said that he was very pleased by the security arrangement in the area. People were also seen chanting 'Vande Mataram' at the iconic clock tower.
