Over 2 crore voter enumeration forms remain uncollected in Maharashtra amid the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, raising concerns ahead of the August 24 deadline. Maharashtra has around 9.78 crore electors, with 7.69 crore forms reportedly digitised, while over 2 crore remain uncollected. Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Nagpur and other districts account for a significant share of the pending forms. Opposition parties have demanded an extension of the deadline, while officials continue efforts to reach voters and complete the verification process.
