Terming the new Omicron variant XBB.1.16 as a "new kid on the block" that could be driving the latest rise in Covid cases, former AIIMS director Dr Randeep Guleria in an exclusive interview to PTI said that new variants will keep coming as the virus keeps on mutating over time, but emphasised that there was no need for panic as long it does not cause severe illness.
