Amid rising security concerns in India’s Northeast, the National Investigation Agency is examining possible foreign involvement in insurgent activities, including the alleged use of drones and cross-border training networks. Retired Lt Gen P. C. Nair highlighted the growing complexity of the insurgency landscape, pointing to potential roles played by foreign intelligence networks and geopolitical interests. He warned that drone-based surveillance and attacks could pose a major challenge, with insurgent groups increasingly adopting advanced technologies.
