The political blame game over the alleged sting operation targeting former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has intensified, with the Congress and JD(S) trading accusations over who is behind the controversy. Congress has accused HD Kumaraswamy of attempting to exploit the situation and deepen the reported differences between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar, allegedly with an eye on the 2028 Karnataka Assembly elections. However, JD(S) spokesperson Prashanti Subhash has rejected the allegations, questioning why Kumaraswamy is being dragged into the controversy when Siddaramaiah and his family had initially pointed towards possible involvement of people within their own party.
