The future of Asom Gana Parishad (AGP)'s alliance with the BJP in Assam depends on whether the BJP chooses to go ahead with the controversial Citizenship Amendment bill that the AGP is opposed to. Former Assam Chief Minister and President of AGP- a Junior partner in the BJP-led government in Assam, Prafulla Mahanta in conversation with Shekhar Gupta on Walk The Talk, expresses his dissatisfaction with the current version of the Citizenship bill.The seasoned leader shared his views on the contentious issue of NRC and the problems with conferring citizenship on the basis of religion. Mr Mahanta also throws light on the experience of being a BJP ally and the road ahead for the party in the coming elections.
