In a conversation with Barkha Dutt, former Finance Minister & senior Congress leader P Chidambaram says that Operation Parakram, a military standoff between India & Pakistan that saw massive troop build-up after the December 2001 attack on the Indian Parliament, was a terrible mistake and a wasteful exercise. He also reveals that troop build-up was considered again in the aftermath of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, but that India 'didn't want to repeat an Operation Parakram'. (Watch full interview here)
