While opinion polls have given the BJP a distinct edge over other parties in Maharashtra, the big question is who will be the chief minister if the party were to form government. Other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has fronted the campaign, the party has not projected any one leader. A key contender for the post is former BJP president and Nagpur MP Nitin Gadkari. But the Union Minister, speaking to NDTV on the campaign trail in Pune, said he is not interested in the job and if offered, would decline the post.
