Vaccines are the best bet to fight coronavirus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed this evening after a meeting with Chief Ministers as the country reports an alarming surge in infections driven by the new Omicron variant. "Omicron is spreading in many countries including ours. While fighting this variant, we must be prepared for the next strain. The biggest weapon against Covid is vaccination. Ninety-two per cent adult population in the country has been given the first dose of vaccine. The rumors on vaccines need to be countered," PM Modi said.
