An eerie silence as cities, towns and villages across India went into a lockdown on March 24, 2020. The Coronavirus was a new infection and isolation and precaution was necessary to understand the virus. The only occasional sounds, the sirens of ambulances as they ripped across the streets. As people began to die of the virus, the government stood firm on its decision to keep the country under lockdown even as it grappled with the extent of the danger from the new virus. Scientists and doctors started studying the virus to understand how it worked - there was no prescribed medical treatment for this never before seen virus and the path to treatment was still being explored.
