Following a scam allowing money to be withdrawn from an employee's GPF account, the Uttar Pradesh police sought the permission of the Chief Justice of India through the Allahabad high court to interrogate 12 serving and retired judges of the Supreme court and the high courts. They also asked for the same permission from the Allahabad High court's Chief justice against 25 serving and retired district judges.
