Even as there is outrage over rape cases in the country, people are asking if nothing has changed in the last eight years, since the Nirbhaya gangrape case in 2012. A total of 45,485 cases of crime against women were registered in 2019, showing an increase of 7.8 per cent over 2018 (42,180 cases).
