Durga Puja, one of the most inclusive festivals of Bengal, saw a kerbside pandal attempting to introduce an incongruous note this year. On Saturday evening, the city was shocked as a figure resembling Mahatma Gandhi was found to have replaced the demon Mahisasura in the image of at a little-known pandal in Kolkata. The puja had been organised by a right-wing group that idolises Nathuram Godse, who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi.
