COVID 19 Crisis Has Transformed Into A Child Rights Crisis: Tannistha Datta, UNICEF

At #Reimagine telethon, Tannistha Datta, Child Protection Specialist, UNICEF, spoke about the less visible consequences of the Coronavirus induced lockdown and how children are affected by it. Ms Datta noted that the measures that are put in place to control a pandemic are also the exact same things that are triggering a child rights crisis even more. The pandemic has resulted in an increase in child labor, child marriage, violence against children, mental health, and stress of children, she said.
