Coronavirus Cases In 24 Hours Cross 10,000-Mark; India 4th Worst-Hit

India has 2,97,535 coronavirus cases, data from the Union Health Ministry showed this morning, crossing the COVID-19 tally of the United Kingdom. India now is ranked fourth in the world in terms of coronavirus cases, after the US, Brazil and Russia. The country recorded over 10,000 new COVID-19 cases in a day for the first time, with 10,956 people testing positive for the deadly virus infection. The death count rose to 8,498 with a record single-day spike of 396 fatalities. The government on Thursday said the country is definitely not" in the community transmission stage of the coronavirus pandemic amid speculation over the past few days on the spike in cases in Mumbai and Delhi.
