Bhopal Housing Society Saving Lakhs By Generating Solar Powered Electricity

A housing society in Bhopal has installed solar panels on the roof tops of its multi-storied buildings. The electricity being generated by these panels is used to light up the society's common areas. Some of it is also supplied to the 164 flats in the society. The 80 kilowatt solar panel unit was installed at a cost of Rs 39 lakh with help of a loan from a private bank.(Video credit: PTI)
