Assam Records Highest Covid Spike In 6 Months

Assam witnessed yet another highest single-day spike of 2,837 cases on Tuesday , with a positivity rate of 5.49 percent -- highest jump in cases in past six months in the state. In the last 11 days, cases have shot up by 19 times. Meanwhile, Assam's harvest festival Bhogali Bihu is also approaching. The real concern is Guwahati city that has reported half of the total cases every day in Assam and the positivity rate of Guwahati at 10 percent is double than the rest of the state. NDTV's Ratnadip Choudhury caught up with the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro Pallav Gopal Jha to find out how the authorities are tackling this situation.
