"When an anchor in Maharashtra was arrested, he was let off the next day by the top court. There are rules and laws but the essence of irony is the ability to make harsh laws and use them selectively. You cannot simply put UAPA on a journalist. Why was he arrested? He was arrested because he was sharing a cab with four other people from Kerala in which a few of them happened to be from PFI," said Sanjay Hegde, senior advocate of the Supreme Court.
